Stamped Concrete
Stamped concrete is a very popular option in Vancouver. People like that they can chose from a wide variety of patterns and colours but still have a solid long lasting surface. You can be assured that your driveway won't settle because we do a 4-6 inch compacted gravel base, a 4 inch concrete slab, and you’re stamped concrete on top of this. It is not going anywhere.
Paving stone Driveway
Paving stones are a beautiful option for your driveway and can nicely tie into any pathways or patios you might be interested in. Due to the fact that your driveway will be getting heavy repetitive use you need to install an 8 inch compacted gravel base underneath the paving stones. Anyone that tells you otherwise is just cutting corners. For especially heavy duty uses you can purchase extra thick pavers. These are not normally necessary but for larger industrial projects or if you have heavy equipment moving around on the driveway they can be helpful in reducing cracking.
Concrete Driveway
Sometimes simpler is better and a nice clean concrete driveway can do the trick. Once you put the cut lines and finish you are looking for on the driveway it stands out. Again a 4-6 inch compacted base is used and 4 inches of concrete on top of this making sure that it does not settle.
Exposed Aggregate
Exposed aggregate has its own charm. The same process are used as the concrete driveway but a small rock is added to the mix and after the concrete has set up a bit the surface is washed and scrubbed to remove some of the surface paste which exposes the decorative rock which is where exposed aggregate gets its name from.
